Hi, we are For Love of Pink

Inspired by beach towns around the world - we create wearable art that reflects the unique experience of being there - the nature, the culture, the vibe. The ultimate souvenir t-shirt.

Born out of my struggle to find a cool souvenir t-shirt that actually reflected my experience on holiday - not just a generic shirt with the name of the place.

Not trying to pretend like I am an authority on the authentic experience of being in these locations - I am a tourist and I fully embrace that. But I have had a different experience in each town, beach and island not just because of the people I traveled with but bc of the unique identity of the culture and nature there. Is it too much to ask to have a wearable souvenir that we can take with us as a memory of those times?

The inspiration struck me while on a trip to St John. The majority of the island is a national park, so it is full of untouched beaches, jungle hiking trails, steep winding roads, and coral reefs. It’s also known for a wildlife quirk - wandering donkeys. I wanted a shirt with a donkey on it or a sunset from Rams Head Trail but all the clothes were just emblazoned with large text “St. John” or generic beachie quotes. Nothing that spoke to the tiny moments or an insider nod to what it was actually like to be there.

Why a t-shirt?

My love for t-shirt design started with a 70’s groovy, all blue Hawaii t-shirt when I was 10. It was my mom’s from a trip she had there when she was a teenager. It was made from the softest cotton I’ve ever felt and featured a simple, outline drawing of the beach with a full rainbow across the sky. I felt untouchably cool wearing it.

I want to make shirts that make people feel like I did in my mom’s. Wearing it made me feel like I had been there. That I had splashed through the waves, seen the brilliant blue ocean and greenest of green landscapes and had a warm sun kissed glow. That I was a cool traveler. These shirts are meant to bottle up that feeling so you can take it with you or gift it to someone so they can feel the relaxation and joy of a day spent at the beach under the sun in the warm ocean waves too.

About the artist

My name is Anna Tyler and I’m a multi medium artist based in Brooklyn, NY.  

I’m a self taught painter with a background in textile print design, brand strategy, and digital design - my art is most inspired by my passion for travel and textile design. 

I created For Love of Pink in the depths of corporate burnout and at the beginning of another 7 year cycle of Saturn. The perfect time to dream up a new path and spend more time in the healing presence of the ocean's waves.
